We’re Changing Our Name!

I have some exciting news! The NETS Institute for Church Planting is changing our name.

As we move toward the new campus, we have chosen a name and tag line that communicate the breadth and depth of our vision:

The NETS Center for Church Planting and Revitalization
For the Life of the Church

NETS means New England Training and Sending. Training and sending is still what we do. Our hope is that we will do it better, and with greater impact, both in New England and beyond.

What’s New
Our new Internship will attract more seminary students to mentor in the art of starting and shepherding congregations. Our expanded Residency Program will train and send more men to plant new churches and revitalize failing ones (of which there are plenty in New England). The NETS Network will continue to support NETS-trained pastors; we’ll also reach out to established pastors serious about leading their churches into planting. And the NETS Assessment Center will strengthen recruiting, not only for our works, but for other missionally minded organizations.

You’ll soon see these changes reflected in our new logo and website. Right now I’m recruiting a new class of interns for 2016 that will, Lord willing, inaugurate our new campus. Over time we’ll implement more new programs, including adding new mentors and faculty.

What’s Not
Some things won’t change. As always, at our core will be the gospel. We’re still in the resurrection business, training and sending men to preach the gospel of life, resulting in dead souls coming to life and churches that are teeming with life and are wellsprings of life to New England and beyond.

We want to train and send men for the life of the church by training them to proclaim the real gospel message, which truly converts, truly transforms, truly gives life. We want to support these men for the life of the church by supporting them until, and long after, a church is fully established. And we want to send these men out for the life of Christ’s church, that her lamp might continue to shine and increase in brightness until He comes. And so we are The NETS Center for Church Planting and Revitalization: For the Life of the Church.

Thank you for your faithful prayers. Please pray that God would fill the campus with couples committed to Christ’s church, and that He would use us to send them out equipped for life. Let’s change the world together.

For Christ and His church,
Wes

Dubai, Cameroon, and Three More Reasons to Pray

Last month, I shared three reasons to pray for NETS in New England: a great need, a great vision, and a great God. Allow me to share how those reasons apply to NETS internationally. Cameroon NETS has a strong footing in Cameroon, with two successful church plants in the last 10 years. The second, Gospel …

Three Reasons to Pray

Thank you all for praying faithfully for NETS. Prayer is hard work, in the trenches kind of work, and we don’t presume upon your efforts on our behalf. However, if you’re like me, prayer can also become dull, even lifeless. It can be rote and easily overlooked. So what stimulates us to pray more fervently? How …

Eglise Baptiste de la Bonne Nouvelle Launches!

Back in 2011, Gospel Baptist Church was planted in Bamenda, Cameroon, under the leadership of NETS Residency graduate Shadrach Vegah. The Lord has greatly blessed the church, with an average weekly attendance of over 500 and around 150 people gathered during the week in small groups for prayer and Bible study. In fact, Gospel Baptist …
